Ganduje Morns Five Slain Police Officers, Donates N20M to Families

The National Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr Umar Abdullahi Ganduje, has donated N20 million to the families of five Police officers who died in a ghastly motor accident while returning to Kano State from election duty in Edo State.
The former Governor of Kano State, who paid condolences visit to the family members in Bichi local government area of Kano, Saturday described the loss as devastating to the entire Nation.
“We are here not for celebrations but for condolence to sympathize with the family members, the Inspector General of Police, the State Commissioner of Police, and the entire people of Kano State.
The deceased were Inspector Ashiru Garba, Inspector Usman Salihu, Sergeant Saidu Salisu, Corporal Kamalu Shehu and Corporal Abubakar Nuhu.
He added “It has always been the tradition of our political Party and our Government to sympathies and assist the families of those who lost their lives in the line of duty, to assure them that they are not alone in this trying time”
The National Chairman, added “I decided to personally come down to Bichi, because of the magnitude of the death of our gallant officers in active National assignment”.
Ganduje, had personally donated N2 Million to each of the five family members of the slain officers, while 10 other Police men who sustained various degree of Injuries were given N1 Million each.
It could be recalled, the deceased officers lost their lived in a head-on collusion with a reversing trailer at Karfi town along Kano-Zaria Abuja Road, after returning from Edo state for election duty.
