Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Saturday attended a wedding ceremony and paid a series of sympathy and condolence visits to families across parts of the state.
The Deputy Governor began the day’s engagements by attending and serving as wakili at the wedding fatiha of Kamal Wada Karaye and his bride, Farida Abdulmumin. Kamal is the son of a former member of the Kano State House of Assembly who represented Karaye Constituency. The marriage was solemnised with a dowry of N100,000.
Following the wedding ceremony, Garo proceeded to Karkasara in Tarauni Local Government Area, where he paid a sympathy visit to Alhaji Rabiu Abdullahi Danga, the father-in-law of the former Commander of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Harun Ibn Sina.
He later proceeded to Fagge Local Government Area to condole with former Chairman of Fagge Local Government, Alhaji Habibu Saleh Me Lemo, over the death of his mother.
The Deputy Governor concluded the day’s engagements with a condolence visit to the family of the late Hajiya Ramatu Auwalu in Gadan Kaya. The deceased, who was the mother of renowned businessman Audu Auwalu, died on Thursday at the age of 81.
During the visit, Garo prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased and asked Almighty Allah to grant their families the strength and patience to bear the irreparable losses.
He also urged the bereaved families to remain steadfast in faith, describing death as an inevitable part of life and encouraging them to take solace in prayers.
