Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Tuesday paid a condolence visit on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to family of former Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Gambo Sallau, following the death of his wife, Hajiya Maryam Dogara.
Hajiya Maryam passed away on Saturday after a brief illness at the age of 49 and she is survived by six children.
During the visit at Kwanar Dangora, Kiru LGA, the Deputy Governor conveyed Governor Yusuf’s condolences to Hon. Gambo, members of the mourning family and associates, praying to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased and grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
Deputy Governor Garo described death of Hajiya Maryam as a great loss to her family and loved ones, noting that the state government shares in their grief during this difficult period.
He urged the family to take comfort in the will of Allah and to continue praying for the repose of her soul, stressing that death is an inevitable reality that every soul must taste.
The Deputy Governor also prayed for Allah to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Expressing his gratitude for the condolence visit, the former Speaker Hon. Gambo, thanked Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf and his deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, for identifying with the family during their moment of grief.
He described the gesture as a demonstration of compassion and solidarity, and prayed to Almighty Allah to continue to guide and protect the state leadership.
