Kano State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, has urged all members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), to continue upholding the existing unity within the party to support Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in achieving his Kano First Agenda.
The Deputy Governor made the call while receiving members of the Forum of Immediate Past Party Executives in the state during a courtesy visit to his office to congratulate him on his emergence as Deputy Governor of the state.
Garo expressed delight and appreciation for the visit, noting that it demonstrated the enduring bond, unity, and dedication among party members.
He commended the forum for its role in promoting togetherness within the party, saying the legacy of unity established by the former executives continues to be enjoyed and has contributed to strengthening the party.
“Your legacy, which nurtured togetherness in the party, is still being enjoyed today and has continued to strengthen the party which attracted Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf into the Party” he said.
The Deputy Governor called for sustained harmony and cooperation among party members, stressing that continued unity would go a long way in helping Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf ti achieve his Kano First Agenda, which is aimed at advancing the development of Kano State.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the delegation and former party Deputy Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Maigari, said the visit was to congratulate the Deputy Governor on his new role.
He explained that the forum was established out of a desire to sustain support for the party in Kano State and Nigeria at large.
“Your Excellency, this forum is for you and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, as our maximum support is for the progress of Kano State,” Maigari said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the Deputy Governor’s commitment since assuming office, adding that members of the forum have high expectations that he will support Governor Yusuf in delivering on his mandate.
“We are happy to see the commitment of His Excellency, the Deputy Governor, since assuming office. We have high hopes that he will help Governor Yusuf deliver on his mandate,” he added.
Also speaking, former Kano North Party Chairman, Alhaji Sani Muqadas, said the delegation was in the Deputy Governor’s office to celebrate with him and pray for divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities.
“We are here to celebrate with you and pray to Allah to guide you in all your affairs,” Muqadas said.
Describing Deputy Governor Garo as a compassionate and humanitarian leader, Muqadas assured him that the forum would continue to support the state government and provide all necessary assistance while keeping the administration informed of progressive developments.
