From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni recently undertook a working visit, meeting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, as well as the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Geidam, to deliberate on matters concerning security.
A statement released by Buni’s Director-General Press and Media Affairs, Alhaji Mamman Mohammed, shared details of the visit with our reporter in Damaturu.
Buni commenced discussions on the security situation in the state during his meeting with Minister Ibrahim Geidam. Both parties acknowledged progress in the security landscape but resolved to explore further measures for enhancement.
Subsequently, Governor Buni and Minister Geidam jointly met President Tinubu at the Villa in Abuja to address the specific security concerns.
Governor Buni expressed, “We’ve observed considerable improvements in the state’s security, though there have been sporadic incidents. We are particularly focusing on securing soft target border communities and have initiated stringent measures to prevent criminal incursions, God willing.”
Responding to these concerns, President Tinubu reassured the government’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and security of the nation and its citizens on a broader scale.
