From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has announced plans to construct a 197km road, termed the “Green Line,” through the Yobe State Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP). The initiative aims to enhance farmers’ access to markets and bolster food security across the state.

The Yobe State RAAMP Project Coordinator, Arc. Musa Suleh Damagum, disclosed this in an interview with our reporter in Damaturu.

According to Arc. Damagum, the Green Line will stretch from Garin Alkali in Bursari Local Government to Mutai in Gujba Local Government, crossing the federal road at Ngelzarma. This ambitious project spans all three senatorial zones of the state.

“This road, which we have termed the ‘Green Line,’ will provide farmers with vital access to markets and play a critical role in ensuring food security,” he said.

Arc. Damagum added that the RAAMP initiative includes a 500km road construction project and several other infrastructure developments. These are part of Governor Buni’s comprehensive strategy to link all 178 wards in the state with accessible and viable road networks.

He commended Governor Buni for positioning Yobe as a leading participant in the RAAMP project, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to rural development and agricultural prosperity.

“Under Governor Buni’s leadership, this project will accelerate the construction and rehabilitation of critical rural roads, ensuring seamless access to agricultural markets and uplifting rural communities,” Arc. Damagum stated.

He expressed confidence in the Governor’s dedication to fulfilling his promises and highlighted the transformative potential of these initiatives. “Governor Buni’s unwavering commitment to addressing the unique needs of rural communities will bring tangible and sustainable progress across Yobe State,” he concluded.
