Gov. Yusuf appoints heads of health sector boards, agencies

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed a panel of experts to lead various boards and agencies within the health sector.

The move comes as part of the Governor’s commitment to bringing in capable and experienced leaders to oversee key aspects of the healthcare system in Kano State.

This is contained in a statement signed by the chief press secretary to the governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Thursday.

The appointment includes, Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda, as the Executive Secretary, Hospital Management Board (HMB), Dr. Nasir Mahmoud as Executive Secretary, Kano State Primary Healthcare Management Board (SPHMB), and Prof. Salisu Ibrahim Ahmed as the Executive Secretary, Private Health Institutions Management Agency (PHIMA).

Other appointments include, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahraddeen, as Executive Secretary, Kano State Health Trust Fund (KHETFUND), Pharm. Ghali Sule, Director General, Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (DCMA), Dr. Usman Bashir, Director General, Kano State Agency for the Control of AIDS (KSACA), Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, Coordinator, Kano State Cancer Care Centre (KCCC) and Dr. Muhammad Abbas, Coordinator Kano State Agency for Disease Control (KADC).

The statement further added that the appointments were made based on merit and a strong commitment to delivering quality and affordable healthcare services in the state.
