Gov Yusuf Inaugurates 10km Roads In Sumaila, Wudil To Boost Connectivity, Security

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has Inaugurated newly-completed 10-kilometre roads in Sumaila and Wudil Local Government Areas, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure and promoting balanced development across the state.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesman, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Saturday.
The projects, measuring five kilometres each in Sumaila and Wudil, are part of the state government’s efforts to improve road infrastructure, enhance connectivity and improve the living conditions of residents in urban and rural communities.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremonies, Governor Yusuf said the projects were initiated to address critical infrastructure needs at the grassroots and promote socio-economic development across the state.
He said the roads, which are equipped with streetlights, would improve visibility at night and enhance the security of residents, traders and other road users.
According to him, the improved roads would also facilitate easier movement of people, agricultural produce and goods, while reducing transportation difficulties and strengthening economic linkages between rural communities and major commercial centres.
Governor Yusuf noted that the provision of streetlights would enable residents to extend their commercial activities beyond daylight hours, creating greater opportunities for traders, small businesses and other economic activities.
He called on residents of the benefiting communities to protect and maintain the roads and streetlights, stressing that government infrastructure would deliver maximum benefits when properly safeguarded and utilised.
Residents and community leaders in Sumaila and Wudil expressed appreciation to Governor Yusuf for the projects, describing the interventions as important measures that would improve transportation, strengthen security and stimulate economic activities in their communities.
