Governor Abba Yusuf applauds ActionAid Nigeria, DAG
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state has applauded the effort of Non-governmental organizations ActionAid Nigeria and Dispute Resolution and Initiative Group (DAG) for empowered over 300 youths and Women in Kano state.
The governor who represented by the government House chief of staff Alhaji Shehu Wada Sagagi gave the commendation during the Flagg off empowerment which take place in Coronation Hall on Monday.
Sagagi said Engr.Abba Kabir administration is doing well to assist youths and Women in Kano to be self reliance in skills and different parts that can make them to become independent.
He assured that the Government will continue partner with the groups in support the people’s of the state more expecially at this moment of hardship.
“Our call on you beneficiary to make sure you have use the equipment in good ways which will give a result of achievement in nearest feture that can help your youngers one.”
In her remark the deputy country director of ActionAid Nigeria Hajiya Suwaiba Muhammad Dankabo said the Group is working in solidarity with people living in poverty and exclusion to achieve social justice, gender equality and poverty,eredication towards achieving a just equitable and sustainable world for every person.
Dankabo added that the ActionAid Nigeria also trying to sustain the joys for the right to a life of dignity, freedom from poverty and all forms of oppression.
“We are working in all 36 state of Nigeria including Abuja through system and structure strengthening approach against radicalization to Violent extremism under(SARVE III) in Kano and Kaduna states to lunch the livelihood intervention programme.
In his address the director of Democratic Action Group of Kano state (DRDI-DAG) Dr Mustapha Muhammad Yahaya said the participants drawing from six local government and 12 communities in the state where selected carefully and train before gave them equipment.
Dr Mustapha continue with programme is immense support from Kano state government handing over about three vocational skills equipment worth over forty million to 300 women and youths in Kano.
He further said the young Woman and Men seeking opportunities to invest their potentials are often negatively affected by poverty, unemployment, marginalization and under-employment Wich find themselves lacking the necessary literacy competence and capability and skills to overcome these issues.
“This participants are trained with Rice processing, Tailoring, Groundnut Oil processing where selected from Local governments of Gwarzo,Gwale,Bebeji, Nasarawa,Tudun Wada and Bichi.
If you can recalled that the programme SARVE III are ActionAid Nigeria and DAG efforts which funding by Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund which know as (GCERF).
