A massive crowd gathered in Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency during the affirmation of Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa as APC candidate for a fifth term in the House of Representatives.
The event attracted supporters from different parts of Kano South, with many expressing support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
Hon. Abdulmumin Jibrin Kofa, popularly known as Jarman Bebeji, praised the leadership of President Tinubu and Governor Abba, describing their administrations as a new phase of progress and development for Nigeria and Kano State.
He commended Governor Abba for what he described as remarkable achievements recorded within less than three years in office.
Jibrin particularly praised the declaration of a state of emergency in the education sector, which he said led to the recruitment and training of over 10,000 teachers, renovation of schools, and provision of classrooms, furniture, laboratory equipment, office accommodation, and toilet facilities.
He also highlighted improvements in the healthcare sector, including renovation of primary, secondary, and tertiary health facilities.
According to him, the administration recruited frontline health workers such as doctors, nurses, midwives, pharmacists, dentists, and laboratory scientists.
He further cited the procurement of medical equipment, free maternal and child healthcare services, health insurance support for vulnerable groups, and an improved drug revolving scheme.
On agriculture, Jibrin said the governor prioritized agricultural transformation through desilting of dams, rehabilitation of irrigation facilities, and provision of affordable fertilizer.
He also mentioned the ongoing renovation and upgrading of the Chalawa and Tamburawa Water Treatment Plants.
Speaking on infrastructure, Jibrin said Kano has become a major construction hub under Governor Abba’s administration.
He pointed to the construction and rehabilitation of more than 100 urban roads, the Dan’agundi and Tal’udu mega flyovers, as well as hundreds of kilometers of rural roads.
He added that the government has also focused on human capital development through the reopening of youth skill acquisition centres and empowerment programmes for women and youths.
Jibrin further commended Governor Abba for what he described as efforts to unite members of the APC in Kano into one family.
He assured that party members would work tirelessly to ensure the governor secures a second term in 2027.
The lawmaker thanked the people of Kiru/Bebeji for their continued support and pledged not to disappoint them.
He also called on all aspirants who contested alongside him to unite for the progress of the APC.
“There is no victor and no vanquished. The victory belongs to everyone,” he said.
