Hon. Bichi Mourns the Passing of Galadiman Kano at 92
Honourable Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, Member of the House of Representatives for Bichi Federal Constituency, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sunusi, who died on Tuesday at the age of 92. The late traditional leader was laid to rest in accordance with Islamic rites the following day.
In a statement, Hon. Abubakar described the passing of Alhaji Abbas Sunusi as a great loss, noting that the revered elder statesman led a peaceful and exemplary life.
“I received the news of the passing of Alhaji Abbas Sunusi with sadness and shock, considering the fact that the late Galadiman Kano lived a peaceful life worthy of emulation,” he stated.
The lawmaker highlighted the deep connection between the people of Bichi and the late Galadiman Kano, who was born in Bichi while his father, the late Emir Muhammad Sanusi I, served as the district head of the area.
“Being born in Bichi—the constituency which I currently represent in the Federal House of Representatives—made the people of Bichi feel a sense of belonging in the life the late Galadiman Kano lived,” he added.
Hon. Abubakar also extended condolences to the Kano State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas Sunusi, who lost his father at a crucial time when his guidance and wisdom were needed.
“On behalf of my family and the entire people of Bichi Federal Constituency, I pray to Almighty Allah to grant the late Galadiman Kano, Alhaji Abbas Sunusi, eternal rest and Aljannatul Firdausi,” he concluded.
Alhaji Abbas Sunusi was a respected figure in Kano’s traditional hierarchy and played a significant role in the community. His passing marks the end of an era in Kano’s rich history.
