An All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant, Abdullahi Mahmud Gaya, has accepted the outcome of recent developments within the party following a meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima and Hon. Abubakar Abba Bichi, as well as a visit by Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf to his Abuja residence
Gaya disclosed that the governor’s visit was part of ongoing efforts aimed at promoting unity and reconciliation within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He added that before the Governor’s visit, he had discussions with Vice President H.E Kashim Shettima who advised him to remain committed to the party and continue working towards its unity and growth.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hon Gaya disclosed that, he took the firm decision following extensive consultations with the Vice President, the former national chairman of the party, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje’, the Kano State Governor, and other key stakeholders from his constituency.
“Following the Governor’s visit to my residence, and subsequent consultations, I decided to withdraw my aspiration to allow for peace and unity of our great party”.
“In the interest of peace, unity, and the continued progress of the party, I have decided to withdraw in good faith.”
He further stated: “At this critical moment, I will never let you down. I hear your concerns, your advise and I remain fully committed to my party and constiteuents.
Hon. Gaya further reiterate that his decision was taken in the overall interest of the APC and its supporters, stressing that reconciliation and cooperation were necessary at this crucial time.
He urged party teeming supporters to work tirelessly for the success of APC in the forth coming general elections to ensure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf and all other flag bearers of the party.
He expressed appreciation to stakeholders, supporters, and loyal party members across the three Local Government areas.
