Hunger: Emir Of Kano Urges First Lady To Convey Situation To President Tinubu

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has asked the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, to tell President Bola Tinubu that Nigerians are experiencing economic hardships, hunger and Starvation.

The Emir gave the message during a courtesy visit paid to him by Mrs Tinubu as part of activities lined up for her one-day visit to the state.

“Although we have several means of communicating to the Government on our needs and requests, your way and means are the surest way to tell the President the actual happenings in the country,” he said.

Bayero, who spoke in Hausa said: “the hunger and starvation, though didn’t start with this Government, but the situation has become more alarming and needs urgent attention.

“The issue of Insecurity is another serious problem we are facing, I know your Government inherited it, but something more seriously should be done to address the situation.

“We are receiving series of messages from our people; one of such message is the much-talked about relocation of CBN and FAAN to Lagos. I think the Government should come out clean on this matter and talk to Nigerians in the Language they would understand.

“Do more enlightenment on this matter, I for one cannot tell the actual intentions of the Government, we should be made to actually understand why the relocation of the CBN and FAAN offices to Lagos,” the Emir said.

He commended the First Lady for her care and the wellbeing and welfare of children and advised her to actualize her Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Programme, adding that the programme, if fully implemented would address the problems being faced by the less privileged in the society.

As part of the visit,the First Lady commissioned the School of Law of the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), named after her as:”Senator Oluremi Tinubu School of Law.”
