The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has celebrated former Minister of Information and renowned statesman, Professor Jerry Gana, on his 80th birthday, describing his life as a model of dedication to nation-building and democratic development.
In a statement issued on Monday, December 1, 2025, Idris said Professor Gana’s contributions to public service, national unity, and intellectual growth remain exemplary. He noted that from his early career as a scholar to his roles in government, Gana consistently demonstrated integrity, vision, and commitment to Nigeria’s progress.
The minister highlighted Gana’s tenure as Minister of Information and Culture, saying the foundations he laid continue to shape the country’s communication and public enlightenment systems.
