Kaduna Group Urges Against Politicizing Military Bomb Attack, Calls for Unity
From Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna
Following the recent bomb attack in Kaduna’s Tudun Biri community, a group called the “Kaduna State Patriot for Good Governance Forum” has cautioned against politicizing the tragedy.
They expressed concern over the Southern Kaduna for Peace and Unity Forum’s statement criticizing the state government’s response and calling it “Utterly selfish.”
The Kaduna Patriot president, Mallam Awwal Aliyu Abdullahi, clarified that the House of Representatives’ donations will be in the form of infrastructure projects like classrooms and water facilities, not cash. He criticized the Southern Kaduna forum for making hasty conclusions without verifying information.
Abdullahi emphasized the importance of unity and collective action in addressing such challenges. He believes the recent citizen engagement efforts by the state government have put an end to “conflictpreneurs” exploiting such situations.
The president also expressed concerns about a lawsuit filed by a lawyer claiming to represent the villagers, demanding compensation and an apology. He cautioned the villagers against falling prey to lawyers who prioritize personal gain over the community’s well-being.
The Kaduna Patriot urges all stakeholders to prioritize the affected community’s well-being and support the government’s relief efforts.
They believe that unity and cooperation are crucial in tackling the root causes of such incidents and preventing future tragedies.
