The Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB) has distributed tablets to 20 newly deployed teachers at the UBEC Model Smart School, Kinkinau, in Kaduna South Local Government Area.
The distribution, which was carried out on Monday at the school, is part of efforts to strengthen digital teaching and learning across the state.
Speaking during the exercise, the Executive Chairman of KADSUBEB, Mubarak Mohammed, said the initiative underscores the board’s commitment to promoting digital teaching and learning.
Mohammed, who was represented by the Director of School Services, Malam Rabiu Idris, noted that the smart school initiative reflects the future of basic education in Kaduna State.
He said the programme aligns with the government’s vision to modernise education in line with global standards.
According to him, the initiative, supported by the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) and the Kaduna State Government, is designed to integrate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into teaching and learning at the basic education level.
“The tablets are intended to equip teachers with the necessary digital tools to deliver technology-driven instruction in line with the smart school model,” he said.
He added that the devices would provide access to digital learning materials, support effective lesson delivery and enhance monitoring of pupils’ academic progress.
The chairman urged the teachers to make optimal use of the devices for lesson planning, classroom instruction and continuous professional development, while emphasising the need for proper maintenance and accountability.
The beneficiary teachers expressed appreciation to KADSUBEB and the state government for the initiative and pledged to utilise the devices effectively to improve teaching and learning outcomes in the state.
