Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, on Friday represented the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, at a high-level Sallah homage and Eid-el-Kabir gathering hosted by the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in Lagos.
The gathering, which brought together governors and senior government officials from across the federation, transcended the ceremonial exchange of Eid greetings. It served as an important platform for reflection on national development, economic transformation, and the collective responsibilities of leadership in advancing Nigeria’s progress.
Representing Kano State at the engagement, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo avowed the administration’s sense of duty toward constructive engagement with federal institutions and continued collaboration on initiatives capable of delivering tangible benefits to the people of Kano State.
The occasion also underscored the enduring significance of dialogue, consultation, and mutual respect among leaders at a time when Nigeria continues to pursue reforms aimed at consolidating economic resilience, expanding infrastructure, enhancing agricultural productivity, and promoting national cohesion.
For Kano State, participation in such engagements reflects a broader philosophy of governance, one that recognizes that sustainable development flourishes when sub-national and national institutions work in harmony toward shared objectives.
Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo noted that the spirit of Eid-el-Kabir offers timeless lessons in sacrifice, service, and devotion to a greater cause. He observed that these values remain indispensable for leaders entrusted with the responsibility of serving the people with unflinching dedication, integrity, and foresight.
The Deputy Governor further conveyed afresh the goodwill of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to President Tinubu and fellow leaders present, while expressing Kano State’s readiness to continue contributing meaningfully to conversations and partnerships that advance peace, prosperity, and inclusive development across the nation.
Beyond the significance of the occasion itself, the gathering provided an avenue for the exchange of perspectives on matters central to Nigeria’s future, including economic revitalization, infrastructural expansion, agricultural advancement, and the cultivation of a more cohesive national outlook.
As Kano State continues its pursuit of transformative governance, the administration remains focused on building bridges of cooperation, fostering unity, and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach every community across the state through long-range developmental initiatives, strategic partnerships, and policies designed to improve the quality of life of its citizens.
The participation of Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo at the presidential Sallah homage further reflects Kano State’s place within the broader national conversation and its enduring resolve to champion initiatives that advance collective prosperity, deepen intergovernmental cooperation, and promote the common good of all Nigerians.
Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo also used the occasion to convey his heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on the commemoration of their third anniversary in office, describing the milestone as a moment for reflection on leadership, service, and developmental strides.
