Kano Deputy Governor commends State Assembly Members, declares them ahead of other Assemblies

The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Comr. Aminu Abdussalm Gwarzo, praised the Members of the State House of Assembly for their commendable performance in fulfilling their legislative duties.

Representing Governor Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf, he made this acknowledgment during the opening of a 3-day retreat for Assembly Members and Management Staff of the State House of Assembly in Abuja.

Gwarzo emphasized the continuous support of the executive arm towards the State House of Assembly, aligning with constitutional provisions for the overall development of the state.

He encouraged both the Assembly Members and management staff to apply the knowledge gained from the retreat for the betterment of the House and the entire state.

Furthermore, Comr. Aminu reminded the Assembly Members of the impending 2024 budget before the House, urging them to expedite the passage of the budget. This, he noted, would facilitate the execution of government programs, policies, and projects, contributing to the holistic development of Kano State.

In his address, the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, pledged the continuous support and collaboration of the legislative body with the state government.

He assured the Deputy Governor that the House would swiftly pass the 2024 budget to enable the state government to proceed with developmental initiatives.

Rt. Hon. Jibril encouraged participants to maintain a high level of focus and active participation throughout the presentations, ensuring practical application of the knowledge gained in fulfilling their constitutional responsibilities.

He expressed gratitude to Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf for sponsoring the retreat, underscoring its significance in strengthening the legislators’ roles for optimal performance.

Adding his perspective, the chief consultant, Professor Abdullahi S. Danwanka, highlighted the timeliness of the retreat considering the evolving political landscape in Kano.

He commended the House for its commitment to human resource development in achieving legislative objectives.
