Kano State Deputy Governor, Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo who doubles as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftancy affairs is in a state of mourning having lost his elder brother, Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Gwarzo to the cold hands of death today (Wednesday).
In a statement released by Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Garba Shuaibu, disclosed that Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Gwarzo passed away at the age of 73 after a brief illness.
According to the statement, the Deputy Governor’s elder brother was a retired educationist and former zonal education director during his professional career.
He is survived by his devoted wife, 8 children as well as 8 grandchildren, each carrying forward his legacy in their own way. Among his children is Abdulsalam Sani, who currently serves as the SSA Domestic to the Deputy Governor.
The loss of Alhaji Sani Abdullahi Gwarzo has cast a shadow of sadness over the Deputy Governor’s office and the wider community, as they remember a man who dedicated his life to the betterment of education and the welfare of his family.
The late Deputy Governor’s elder brother will be buried by 2 pm today according to Islamic rites at Kofar Yamma quarters in Gwarzo LGA, Kano.
