Kano Deputy Governor Urges Market Traders to Uphold Tax Payment

Kano State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, has called on traders at Dawanau Market to remain committed to tax payment, emphasizing its crucial role in the development of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area (LGA) and the state at large.
Speaking at an event in Dawakin Tofa LGA, Comrade Gwarzo stressed that tax payment is not just a civic duty but a fundamental right that enables the government to execute developmental projects, particularly in education, which remains a top priority of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s administration.
The event, organized by Dawakin Tofa LGA Chairman, Anas Mukhtar Danmaliki, was aimed at sponsoring 582 students into higher institutions.
The Deputy Governor who doubles as the Commissioner for Higher Education, described the occasion as a significant milestone, commending Danmaliki for his dedication to the education sector and acknowledging the people of Dawakin Tofa for their support.
He urged the scholarship beneficiaries to remain committed and hardworking, emphasizing that their academic achievements would serve as motivation for future generations.
He also challenged other LGA Chairmen to emulate Danmaliki’s initiative and collaborate with stakeholders to promote educational and infrastructural development in their areas.
In his remarks, Dawakin Tofa LGA Chairman, Anas Mukhtar Danmaliki reaffirmed that the scholarship scheme aligns with Governor Yusuf’s commitment to education.
He revealed that his administration secured admissions for the 582 beneficiaries into higher institutions, covering their first-year tuition fees with over N50 million sourced from internally generated revenue.
He assured that the sponsorship program would continue, ensuring more students have access to quality education, which will benefit Dawakin Tofa, Kano State, and Nigeria at large.
