Kano Fire Service Launches 2025 “Hunturu” Fire Safety Campaign

The Kano State Fire Service has launched its annual “Hunturu” campaign aimed at enlightening the public on the dangers of fire outbreaks, particularly during the harmattan season.

The campaign was officially declared open on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, by the Director of the Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, during a meeting with commanders, their subordinates, and staff officers across the state.

This was contained in a statement signed by ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service.

Addressing the officers, Alhaji Anas emphasized the importance of public awareness and urged residents to exercise caution while handling fire-related activities during the dry season. He directed the Fire Prevention Unit, which serves as the awareness department of the Service, to intensify efforts in implementing the campaign effectively.

The Director further called on commanders to discharge their duties with sincerity and the fear of God, stressing the need for commitment and professionalism in safeguarding lives and property.

The meeting and declaration mark the official commencement of the 2025 Hunturu Fire Safety Campaign, which is expected to include sensitization programs and public enlightenment activities across the state.
