Kano govt. directs all commissioner nominees to declare assets
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has issued a directive stating that all 19 Commissioner nominees must adhere to the code of conduct regulations by declaring their assets.
The announcement was made in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin-Tofa, on Tuesday.
The statement revealed that the nominees are required to complete the asset declaration form from the Code of Conduct Bureau before their screening at the State Assembly Complex on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 10 am.
Governor Yusuf emphasized that no nominee will be sworn in as a cabinet member without fulfilling this requirement, and the directive extends to all other political appointees in the administration.
“All other political appointees under this administration shall also comply with the directive accordingly,” he said.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to transparency and accountability, assuring the people of Kano that his administration will uphold these principles to promote good governance, as outlined in his election campaign.
