Kano Governor appoints Dr. Balarabe Rogo as new provost

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has announced the appointment of Dr. Balarabe Ismail Rogo as the new Provost of the Kano College of Health Sciences.

This decision follows the resignation of the former Provost due to serious health issues.

The announcement was made by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, in a statement issued on Thursday.

“The appointment of Dr. Rogo is a testament to our commitment to promoting qualified and capable leaders in our educational institutions.

“His extensive experience and dedication to community health make him an excellent fit for this role,” the statement reads.

Dr. Rogo, who previously served as the Deputy Provost of the College, is a certified Community Health Worker and holds a Master of Science degree in Microbiology from Bayero University, Kano.

“I am honored to accept this new responsibility and look forward to working collaboratively to enhance the quality of health education in Kano State,” Dr. Rogo stated.

The statement further stated that the appointment is based on merit.

“The appointment takes immediate effect,” the statement concluded.
