Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf on Tuesday sent a high-powered delegation to condole with the Chairman of Nasarawa Local Government Area, Amb. Yusuf Imam (Ogan Boye), over the death of his mother-in-law, Hajiya Iya.
The delegation, led by the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, alongside other top government officials, was received by the Nasarawa LG Chairman at the residence of the deceased at Gama ward of Nasarawa Local Government Area.
Hajiya Iya died on Thursday after a brief illness at the age of 55. She is survived by 13 children and several grandchildren.
During the condolence visit, Deputy Governor Garo conveyed the sympathy of the Kano State Government and the people of the state to the bereaved family.
“The Kano State Government and the good people of Kano State sympathise with you during this difficult period,” he said.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, grant her Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the strength to bear the loss.
