The Kano State Government has commended the member representing Tudun Wada/Doguwa Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa, for empowering constituents with tractors, vehicles, motorcycles, sewing machines and cash donations.
The Deputy Governor, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, who represented Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf at the empowerment programme held on Friday at Kwankwasiya City, said the initiative would complement the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Kano State Government towards improving the welfare of citizens.
Garo disclosed that the programme featured the distribution of tractors, luxury cars, motorcycles and sewing machines.
He added that cash donations ranging from N20,000 to N200,000 would also be distributed to youths and women across three wards in Tudun Wada Local Government Area.
The Deputy Governor expressed appreciation to Doguwa for the intervention, noting that such initiatives complement government efforts towards supporting farmers, empowering young people and improving the economic opportunities of women.
Speaking earlier, Doguwa said the programme was organised to appreciate party members and supporters for their contributions at the ward and local government levels.
He explained that the beneficiaries were selected from Brumburum, Baburi and Dalawa wards, describing the three areas as important political strongholds in Tudun Wada Local Government Area.
The lawmaker disclosed that the initiative involved over N25 million in cash donations and other empowerment items, including private cars, motorcycles, sewing machines and mechanised tractors with implements to support agricultural activities.
He said the intervention was also aimed at complementing the efforts of President Tinubu and Governor Yusuf in promoting agricultural development and empowering women and young people.
