Kano Govt Signs Multi Billion Naira Roads Contract To Ease Transportation

The Kano State Government on Monday signed multiple agreements for the construction of roads worth billions of Naira in parts of the state.

The state Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr.Marwan Ahmad, announced this while addressing newsmen in Kano on Monday.

Ahmad said the roads would be constructed to facilitate smooth transportation of people and goods in the benefiting communities.

He listed the roads to include Tudun Yola Gwarze Dansudau Bypass in Unogogo Local Government Area worth about N1.9 billion to be constructed by ZOEC CONSTRUCTION NIG. LTD,Jafar/Madobi Road, Underpass ani Abacha Youth Center Road to be handled by
SKY TECHNICAL & CONST CO. LTD at more than N1.3 billion.

He said RADOC CONSTRUCTION NIG. LTD. would handle the rehabilitation/Asphaltic Overlay of Sabo Bakin Zuwo Road, (From Government House Round About Maiduguri Road, Kano) at over N2 billion

The commissioner said the same RADOC CONSTRUCTION. NIG. LTD. would execute the
rehabilitation/asphaltic overlay of Muhammad Buhari Road, (From Kabuga Underpass to Katsina Road) Underpass at more than N4 billion.

Other Projects he said are:Airport Road Rehabilitation: N5.956 billion, Murtala Muhammad Way Flyover-KSIP Round About Rehabilitation: N7.469 billion
5KM Dualized Road Completion in Rano LGA: N2.741 billion, Solar Powered Street Light Installation in D/Tofa and Dambatta LGAs: N482.827 million and N370.911 million, Remodeling of African House Conference Hall: N1.870 billion

The rest include:Reconstruction of Two Multi-cell Culverts in Shanono LGA: N643.693 million, Supply & Installation of 800KVA Generating Set at Kusalla Water Treatment Plant: N283.692 million.

Ahmed noted that the projects were expected to improve road connectivity, reduce traffic congestion and enhance the overall quality of lives of residents of the state.

He added that government’s investment in infrastructure development is a testament of its commitment to fulfilling its campaign promises and driving economic growth.
