Kano Govt Supports Veteran Journalist with N1 Million After Settling Medical Expenses

The Kano State Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has extended support to veteran journalist Lawan Isah Bagwai with the sum of ₦1 million, after fully covering his medical expenses following an accident which led to his hospitalization.

This was contained in a statement issued by Hauwa Sulaiman Zahraddeen Assistant Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council

According to the Director General, Media and Publicity, Alhaji Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the support was provided due to the journalist’s inability to immediately return to work after being discharged from the hospital and while he continues to recuperate at home.

Speaking during the presentation of the assistance, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council, Comrade Sulaiman Dederi, expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government for its continuous support to journalists in the state.

Comrade Dederi also extended to Alhaji Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa and the Commissioner for Information, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, for their unwavering contributions to the NUJ and its members.
