By Ammar Shanono

A gang of unknown gunmen stormed Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), Katsina, and kidnapped five female students from their hostel on Wednesday at around 2:00 a.m.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the incident to newsmen, adding that the police have arrested one suspect in connection with the crime.

“Investigation is ongoing in order to rescue the kidnapped students as well as to arrest other members of the gang and bring them to justice,” ASP Aliyu said.

The recent kidnapping of students from FUDMA is reminiscent of the abduction of hundreds of students from the Federal University of Gusau (FUGUS), Zamfara
