KCPC Changes Official Operative Uniform From Black To Green

As part of its efforts to strengthen its operations, enhance public confidence, and promote justice, transparency, accountability, and professionalism, the Kano State Consumer Protection Council (KCPC) has changed its official operative uniform from Black to Green.
The Executive Secretary of the Council, Dr. Ibrahim G. Muhammad, disclosed this while speaking with journalists during an interview, according to a statement signed by the council’s Director Public Enlightenment,Jamilu Mustapha Yakasai.
The Executive Secretary explained that the new green uniform symbolises growth, renewal, hope, safety, and a fresh commitment to protecting the rights and interests of consumers.
He noted that the change is part of the council’s broader efforts to reposition and strengthen its operations in line with present-day realities and the evolving demands of consumer protection.
Dr. Muhammad expressed his appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for approving the council’s request for the change of uniform.
He said the approval demonstrates the administration’s commitment to strengthening institutions and ensuring effective protection of consumers across the state.
He reaffirmed that the council would continue to work tirelessly to protect consumers and ensure that substandard, adulterated, counterfeit, expired, and unsafe products do not find their way into markets across Kano State.
The executive secretary therefore called on companies, traders, business owners, and members of the general public to take note of the new official uniform, stressing that, henceforth, authorised KCPC personnel will be identified by the new green operative uniform, replacing the black uniform previously used by the Council.
He also appealed to members of the public to continue supporting the council by reporting cases involving substandard products, unfair business practices, and other violations of consumer rights.
He noted that public cooperation and timely information would greatly assist the council in improving business standards, protecting consumers, and safeguarding public health.
Dr. Muhammad also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate only with duly authorised KCPC personnel, as the introduction of the new uniform would also help to improve proper identification and minimise the risk of impersonation.
He then expressed appreciation to the members of staff, stakeholders, business communities, and the general public for their continued support and cooperation in advancing the council’s mandate of protecting consumers and promoting a fair, safe, and transparent marketplace in Kano State.
