Kebbi Gov. bags award from SWS for uplifting standard of Women in Kebbi State

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu has received  an award for his unrelenting contributions in uplifting the living standard of women in Kebbi State.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity on Tuesday.

Governor Idris was honored with the prestigious women  award by the National body of Standup For Women Society  (SWS) at its second national conference with the theme, Women: ‘ Bridge builders in good governance and societal balance’ which took place at Top Rank Hotel Galaxy, Abuja, from 13th to 14th September 2023.

According to the Kebbi State Chairperson of the organisation  who is also the Chief Press Secretary  to the wife of the Governor, Hajiya Binta Abdulhamid  who recieved the award on behalf of  the Governor,  the Society recognizes the leading role of the Governor in supporting women development,  humility, open mindedness, open door policy, mentoring and accommodating posture.

Two other illustrious sons of Kebbi State, Alhaji  Yakubu Bala Tafida , Secretary to the State Government and Commissioner for local Government and Chietaincy Affairs, Alh Garba Umar Dutsin Mari also received award at the conference for their individual contribution to the development of women in Kebbi State.
