Kebbi Govt Orders Closure Of Schools, Institutions Across State

The Kebbi State Government has ordered the closure of primary, secondary and tertiary institutions across the State.
This was revealed in a joint statement by the Hon Commissioner for Higher Education, Alhaji Issa Abubbakar-Tunga and Hon. Comissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Dr. Halima Bande in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.
The commissioners stressed that the recent attacks by bandits necessitated the directive.
The affected institutions include:Kebbi State Polytechnic Dakingari, Abdullahi Fodio University of Science and Technology Aliero,College of Health Sciences and Technology Jega,Adamu Augie College of Education Argungu,and School of Remedial Studies Yauri.
However the commissioners said College of Nursing Sciences and Midwifery, located in the state capital is not affected by the directive.
Bandits had earlier kidnapped 25 school girls in GSS Maga, on Sunday night after killing the school’s Vice President, barely a week after the incident another abduction incident occurred at Niger State where more than 250 students and 12 teachers from St Mary’s Catholic Church,Papiri Niger State were abducted by armed bandits on Friday.
Nigeria has continued to grapple with security issues which prompted President Tinubu to replace the Service Chiefs to strengthen and boost security across various regions.
