The African Development Bank (ADB) has commended Jigawa state governor, Malam Umar Namadi on his vision to transform the state through agriculture.
The commendation was made by the representative of the bank Sule Ochal at the Africa food Systems Forum Summit held at Kigali, Republic of Rwanda.
He explained that, the governor presented his vision for Agricultural transformation Agenda of Jigawa state, advocating for financial and technical support from the global development institutions and philanthropies.
The ADB representative who expressed his total respect and honor to governor Namadi added that, governor Namadi also informed the audience that the only way Jigawa State could grow its economy and improve its social development indicators is through agriculture.
“He informed us that to reduce youth unemployment and restlessness in Nigeria, generally, we need to incentivize and encourage them (youth) to take to Agriculture as a business…This is what leadership and governance is all about!”, Ochal said.
