KNSG To Train MDAs Senior Special Reporters
The Kano State government will train special and senior special reporters appointed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and posted to ministries and agencies in the state.
Kano State Commissioner of Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye dropped the hint during a maiden meeting with the special and senior special reporters at the premises of the ministry.
He said the training will give them an opportunity to acquire additional knowledge and skills in the areas of information dissemination of government programs and policies.
Dantiye, who commended the special reporters’ efforts during campaigns, urged them to use their positions to publicize the government’s developmental projects, programs, and policies for the benefit of the people in the state.
He added that the state Ministry of Information is their mother ministry that will guide and coordinate their activities to achieve the desired objectives since we are working for the same government to succeed.
The Commissioner stated that plans are underway to provide a newsroom at the ministry equipped with modern working materials for the special reporters to post their news on all available social media platforms for wider publicity of government activities.
Dantiye urged them to work harmoniously and in synergy with the Ministry of Information as well as the ministries or agencies they are posted to serve as special reporters by the state government.
In her welcome remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information, Hajiya Hafsat Iliyasu Aliyu, reminded the special reporters that the nature of their job is similar to that of the Ministry of Information and urged them to always consult the ministry for guidance on any issue they need assistance with for effective and efficient information dissemination.
