By Salisu Hamisu Ali

Former Kano State Governor and 2023 presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has condemned the brutal mob attack on 16 travelers from Northern Nigeria in Edo State.

In a statement posted on his official X handle, Kwankwaso expressed deep concern over what he described as a “harrowing display of mob injustice” that occurred in the Udune Efandion community of Uromi on March 27, 2025.

He lamented the recurrence of such acts of jungle justice, calling them a tragic reminder of lawlessness.

“It is common knowledge that people from all parts of the country should be able to travel without facing any form of harassment or intimidation,” Kwankwaso stated, emphasizing the need for a safe and united Nigeria.

The former governor urged the relevant authorities to launch a full-scale investigation into the incident and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

He also extended his condolences to the victims’ families, the Kano State Government, and other affected states.

“While praying for the repose of the victims, I extend my condolences to their families, the Kano State Government, and other affected states,” he added.

The tragic incident has sparked widespread reactions, with many Nigerians calling for urgent action to prevent further occurrences of mob violence in the country.
