No fewer than three million residents of Zamfara State on Wednesday trooped out to receive Minister of State for Defence,Bello Matawalle Maradun, in Gusau.
The residents came out in unprecedented numbers, devoid of political party affiliation, to welcome the Minister who was on a Thank-you visit to the state and other engagements.
During the reception, the Zamfara citizens kept shouting,”2027 Sai Tinubu Jagaban,” meaning,”We will vote for Tinubu for second term, come 2027.”
According to reports, the visit was part of the Minister’s thank-you visit which he usually undertakes to show appreciation to the people for their support for the Government of President Tinubu.
The visit was to also enable the minister to hold a Political Programme to showcase the achievements of President Tinubu as well as his efforts in tackling the insecurity bedeviling the state.
Speaking during the visit, a staunch supporter of the Government of President Tinubu as well as the Minister,Dr.Musa Iliyasu Kwankwaso, urged Northern Leaders and Political office holders to emulate Matawale’s political sagacity.
Kwankwaso, who is also the Director Finance Hadejia Jamaare River Basin Development Authority(HJRBDA),said Matawalle had never abandoned his people when he was Governor of the State and now that he is a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Matawalle has always been with his people in pains and happiness, when he was Governor and even now that he is a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“And what Matawale is doing has endeared the people of Zamfara State to the Government of President Tinubu with vast majority of them ready to re-elect him, come 2027.
“You can see that today over 3 million people trooped out to welcome this gentleman, most of them uninvited, they came on their own,”Kwankwaso said.
He advised political appointees from the North to emulate Matawalle and embark on grassroots sensitization of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“They should go to the grassroots and inform the people about the efforts of the Federal Government, especially the Renewed Hope Agenda which is gradually changing the Nigerian narratives.
“On my part,I commend Bello Matawale for his sustained projection of President Tinubu’s good works, and by the grace of God,we, Northerners, will re-elect him in 2027.
“I also pray that Matawalle will return to the Zamfara Government House as the Governor of the state to complete the good works he had started, come 2027,” the APC bigwig added.
