Plateau State Governor, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has called on youths to learn from the experiences of older generations and embrace responsible lifestyles that promote peace, unity and meaningful contributions to society.
The Governor made the call during a condolence visit to the family of late Alhaji Garba Abdulqadir, Deputy Chairman of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Plateau State Chapter, at his residence in Jos North.
In a statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr.Gyang Bere, Mutfwang described the deceased as a devoted Muslim, a repository of wisdom and a respected community leader whose commitment to peace, unity and harmonious coexistence earned him recognition within and beyond the Muslim community.
He said Abdulqadir’s death was a significant loss to the Muslim Ummah and Plateau State, considering his contributions to religious leadership and community relations.
The Governor urged young people to draw valuable lessons from the lives of those who had gone ahead of them, cautioning against social vices and choices that could jeopardise their future.
“Young people must learn from the experiences of those who have gone ahead of them and embrace lifestyles that add value to their lives and communities,” he said.
Mutfwang, on behalf of the Plateau State Government and its people, expressed sympathy with the bereaved family, the JNI and the entire Plateau Muslim Ummah, praying for God’s comfort and the strength to bear the loss.
Responding on behalf of the JNI Chairman in Plateau State, Alhaji Muhammad Sambo Haruna, the Emir of Wase, appreciated the Governor for his support to the family during Abdulqadir’s prolonged illness.
He described the Governor’s concern and solidarity as a source of comfort to the family during the difficult period.
