…Applauds BUK VC for Support

The Nigerian Association for Physical, Health Education, Recreation, Sports and Dance (NAPHER-SD) has re-elected Professor Florence Bola Adeyanju for a second term as its President.
The election was conducted during the association’s 54th Annual Conference and elective congress held at the Centre of Excellence, Bayero University Kano (BUK).
Also re-elected were the immediate past Secretary-General of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), Dr Sanusi Muhammad, as First Vice President; Mr Godspower Odedede, Second Vice President; and Mr Igba Emmanuel as Secretary.
Others elected are Dr Sylvester Ikuojemoye, Assistant Secretary; Dr Joy Maiyaki, Financial Secretary; Professor Fraze Atare, Treasurer; Dr Ajibola Gbenga Samson, Public Relations Officer; Dr Musa H. Darma, Publication Secretary; and Dr Chijoke Okechukwu, Auditor.
The position of Ex-officio I went to Professor Musa Garba Yakasai, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) and former Chairman of the Sports Committee of Bayero University Kano.
The five-day conference and workshop attracted members of the association, university vice chancellors, researchers and observers from across the country.
The conference was declared open by the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Haruna Musa, who was represented by Dr Abubakar Ibrahim Hassan.
The conference, themed “Transparency, Integrity and Accountability in Sports, Health and Education,” featured presentations and discussions on issues affecting the sectors.
Speaking shortly after her re-election, Professor Florence Bola Adeyanju expressed appreciation to members for their confidence and pledged to continue working towards the growth and development of the association.
Also speaking, Professor Musa Garba Yakasai described the turnout at the conference as impressive and commended members for their participation.
He also expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Professor Haruna Musa, for supporting the association throughout the five-day conference.
