NGO Empowers Jigawa Media Influencers on Education

A non governmental organization known as Beta Nigeria, engaged and empowered media influencers on how to improve education in Jigawa state.
Hajiya Aida Isah a team member of Beta Nigeria explained that, the two-day capacity building training was conducted by Beta Nigeria through PLANE and funded by Foreign Commonwealth Development Office.
She explained that, Beta Nigeria education’s campaign is advocating for solutions to teacher shortages, out-of-school children, and improved accountability in education spending in Jigawa state.
According to her, the training equipped journalists, social media influencers, and education advocates with the skills to use media as a tool for change, amplifying critical education issues and holding policymakers accountable.
“Throughout the workshop, participants engaged in discussions on education policy, systemic challenges, and the role of media in driving advocacy.
“Experts from CSACEFA, and Beta Nigeria led sessions on education accountability, storytelling for impact, and leveraging media for effective policy engagement”, Aida said.
The influencers participated in hands-on content creation, developing powerful advocacy videos that highlight the urgent need for increased investment in teacher recruitment, training, and better education policies.
She said, the key highlight during the training was the presentation of video advocacy content, where participants showcased their storytelling skills, aligning their messages with national and international education advocacy moments.
The workshop reinforced the media’s role in shaping public discourse, urging journalists and influencers to use their platforms to demand urgent action from policymakers on education reforms.
She maintained that, Beta Nigeria remains committed to championing quality education for all Nigerian children by advocating for policies that address the education crisis.
Hajiya Aida then, urged all stakeholders, media practitioners, and advocates are encouraged to join the movement and push for meaningful change.
