Niger Republic Repatriates 180 Nigerians, Received by NEMA
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has received 180 Nigerians repatriated from Niamey, Niger Republic.
In a post on X on Wednesday, NEMA stated that the repatriation was facilitated by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The agency said the returnees, who arrived in Kano on Tuesday, comprised 122 adult males, 18 male children, three male infants, 28 adult females, five female children, and four female infants.
NEMA added that some of the returnees experienced malaria and other minor health issues, which were promptly attended to by medical personnel.
“On March 18, 2025, the NEMA Kano office played a crucial role in receiving 180 vulnerable Nigerians returning from Niamey, Niger Republic,” the post read.
“Upon arrival, they were transported to the Nigerian Immigration Training School in the late hours of March 18, where profiling and documentation were conducted the following day, March 19.”
