Niger Republic Traditional Rulers Pay Sympathy Visit to Yobe

From Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

A delegation of traditional rulers from Niger Republic visited Yobe State to offer condolences to the government and people over the recent floods and Mafa incidents that led to the loss of lives and destruction of property in parts of the state.

The delegation was led by Abdou Katielou Katiella Gasso, the Emir of Maine-Soroa. Speaking in Damaturu, the Emir expressed solidarity, noting that as close neighbors, it was their duty to stand with Yobe during difficult times. He emphasized the strong cultural, religious, and familial bonds between the people of Niger Republic and Yobe State, stating, “What affects one, automatically affects the other.”

In response, Governor Mai Mala Buni thanked the delegation for their visit, commending the traditional rulers for maintaining the longstanding ties between the two communities. “I appreciate this show of love, care, and concern. We will continue to encourage and promote these traditional relationships,” the governor assured.
