Nigerian Army Renovates Schools in Jigawa Communities

The Nigerian Army has completed the renovation and furnishing of 24 classrooms at the Limawa Primary School in Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

PRIME TIME NEWS Correspondent gathered that, this project is part of the Army’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its efforts to support the development of communities across the nation.

In addition to the renovated classrooms, the Army also provided the school with student seats and a set of school uniforms for over 1,000 pupils.

Lieutenant General Lagbaja, Chief of Army Staff, stated that the project was part of the military’s policy for non-kinetic support in national peace and development. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in promoting better relationships between the military and the general public.

Major General NC Ogbor, Chief of Civil Military Affairs, who represented General Lagbaja at the inauguration ceremony, explained that the Community Special Intervention Project gives senior military officers the opportunity to give back to their communities and strengthen ties with the people.

He assured the Jigawa State government and people of the state that the Nigerian Army would continue to work hand-in-hand with sister security agencies and the general public to protect the country’s territorial integrity, peace, and stability.

Major General Abdulkadir Muhammad Sa’id, the chief executor of the project, provided details on the scope of the renovation.

“The project included the renovation of 11 blocks of classrooms, the construction of 10 toilets, the installation of water facilities, and the refurbishment of staff offices” He said.

He further announced that, under the Chief of Army Staff Community Intervention program, all students of the school would receive one set of school uniforms and a set of exercise books.

Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State commended the Chief of Army Staff for this intervention, which complements the state government’s efforts to provide a conducive learning environment for students.

He also praised Major General Abdulkadir Muhammad for his dedication to the project and described him as a proud son of the state who cares about the future of the younger generation.

The Governor assured the Chief of Army Staff and the project executor that the government, in collaboration with the community, would utilize and protect the project to ensure its long-term sustainability and contribute to the goal of providing quality education for all children.

His Highness Muhammad Hameem Nuhu Sanusi, Emir of Dutse, expressed the appreciation of the Limawa community and the Dutse emirate to the Chief of Army Staff.

He pledged to continue promoting the “Friendship Operation” initiative, which fosters cooperation between the military, security agencies, and the community to maintain peace and stability in Jigawa State and Nigeria.
