NNPP cries out over Appeal Court’s delay in releasing CTC of Kano judgement

The leadership of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has voiced its concerns regarding the delayed release of the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the Kano judgement by the Court of Appeal, delivered on Friday, November 17, 2023.

Expressing their worries through a press release issued on Monday by ag. National Chairman of the Party, Abba Kawu Ali on Monday, the NNPP emphasized the criticality of time in the appeal process, indicating that the delay in obtaining the CTC of the judgement impedes their ability to file an appeal within the stipulated timeframe.

Highlighting the urgency of the situation, the NNPP reiterated that an appellant typically has a fourteen-day window to complete necessary processes for an appeal.

The delay of four days in acquiring the CTC is perceived as a significant setback that could jeopardize their ability to seek redress at the Supreme Court.

The NNPP, citing past instances of setbacks and perceived attempts to create confusion during legal proceedings, appealed to the bench and the public for immediate action.

They urged the Appeal Court to expedite the release of the CTC of the judgement to enable their legal team to prepare for the filing of an appeal at the Supreme Court.

The party reaffirmed its faith in the judiciary as the ultimate arbiter of justice and expressed its commitment to pursuing legal avenues within the boundaries of the law to ensure the restoration of their mandate, particularly in the interest of the people of Kano State.
