NNPP Installs New Gombe Leadership, Vows Unity, Grassroots Rebuilding

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has inaugurated a new set of state executives in Gombe following a consensus-based congress, with party leaders pledging to strengthen internal cohesion and expand the party’s grassroots presence across the state.
The congress, held through a consensus and affirmation process, attracted delegates from the state’s three senatorial districts and all local government areas.
Party officials described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and orderly, reflecting improving unity and stability within the party’s state structure.
Hon. Elder Ambrose Ismail Mairungu emerged as the Gombe State Chairman, while Yakubu Adamu Tela was affirmed as Deputy Chairman.
Abdullahi Ali Mohammed was elected as State Secretary, and Hon. Amatiga Yila Naboth (ACG) assumed office as State Publicity Secretary.
Other officials elected during the congress include Musa Mohammed Gargajiga as State Youth Leader, Hajiya Hauwa Mohammed as State Women Leader, and Kabiru Mohammed Puma as State Organising Secretary.
In his acceptance speech, Mairungu expressed gratitude to party members for the confidence placed in him, promising to run an inclusive and disciplined administration focused on rebuilding and strengthening the party’s structures from ward to state levels.
He said the new leadership would prioritise reconciliation, membership expansion and sustained engagement with young people and women, as part of a broader strategy to position the party for future elections in Gombe State.
Party stakeholders who attended the congress applauded the peaceful conduct of the exercise and expressed confidence that the new leadership would reposition the NNPP as a formidable political platform in the state.
The congress concluded with a collective call for unity, loyalty and commitment among members to ensure the growth and stability of the party in Gombe State.
