In a sombre response to Jigawa State’s most tragic recent incidents, the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Jigawa Command, has expressed its heartfelt condolences to Governor Malam Umar Namadi people of Majiya Town, and entire people of Jigawa state after a fuel tanker explosion left a devastating toll.
The tragic event, which unfolded on a quiet Tuesday night, saw over 180 lives lost and left more than 100 others injured.
Many of the victims were young people, amplifying the depth of the loss felt across the state.
In a statement issued by PCRC Chairman Rt. Honourable Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin (Kayardan Dutse) and disseminated through Deputy Secretary Comrade Danlami H. Shu’aibu, the committee conveyed profound sympathy for those affected by the disaster, including the bereaved families and the entire Jigawa community.
“The PCRC is deeply saddened by the tragic fuel tanker explosion that claimed precious lives, predominantly young people, and left many more injured. Our hearts go out to the people of Jigawa State during this period of profound loss. We pray for the souls of the departed to rest in peace and that Almighty God grants the families the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” Dangyatin stated.
This tragedy, leaving lasting wounds in Majiya, brings a renewed call for vigilance and safety measures in Jigawa’s transport and logistics operations.
As recovery efforts continue, the people of Jigawa unite in grief and resilience, holding close the memories of those they have lost.
