The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has concluded its senatorial primary election for the Bauchi North Senatorial District, with Abdulkadir Adamu Isawa emerging as the party’s candidate.
The exercise was held in Azare and monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alongside security agencies and party stakeholders.
Delegates from the seven local government areas of the district participated in the voting process, where Isawa contested against Maula Adamu.
At the end of the exercise, Isawa secured 137 votes to defeat his opponent, who scored no vote.
Speaking after his victory, Isawa thanked party members and delegates for their support.
“I appreciate the confidence reposed in me by our party members. I will not take this mandate for granted,” he said.
He called on supporters of the party to remain united ahead of the general elections.
“We must work together as one family to ensure victory for the PDP in the forthcoming elections,” he added.
Isawa also commended INEC officials and security personnel for ensuring what he described as a peaceful and transparent exercise.
“I want to thank INEC and security agencies for providing a level playing ground for all contestants,” he said.
He further pledged to deliver quality representation if elected.
“I am committed to providing good leadership and promoting development across Bauchi North Senatorial District,” he stated.
