Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos, has awarded three major infrastructure contracts aimed at strengthening academic facilities and improving campus security.
In a statement signed by the Acting public Relations Officer of the University, Masara Kim, said the projects include the construction of an extension to the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences Building (Lot 2) and the renovation of the Senate Building (Lot 1), both funded under the 2025 TETFund Annual Intervention.
Also approved is the construction of a solid block perimeter fence under the 2025 TETFund Special Allocation for Disaster Recovery Intervention.
On January 5, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Shedrack Best, formally handed over the project sites to the successful contractors after a rigorous screening and selection process.
He reaffirmed the university management’s commitment to infrastructural development and improved academic standards, stressing the importance of quality execution and timely delivery.
Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Moses Galadima, the Vice Chancellor assured the contractors of the university’s support while emphasizing strict adherence to project specifications and timelines.
“These projects are very important to our administration. We will give you all the necessary support, but we expect timely delivery and strict compliance with approved standards. Excellence is non-negotiable,” Professor Galadima stated.
The extension of the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences Building and the construction of the solid block perimeter fence were awarded to Harriman Engineering Ltd.
The medical sciences building extension is scheduled for completion within 52 weeks, while the perimeter fence is expected to be completed in 16 weeks.
The renovation of the Senate Building was awarded to Blossom Innovators Ltd, with a completion timeline of 13 weeks.
Speaking on behalf of their companies, representatives of Harriman Engineering Ltd and Blossom Innovators Ltd, Greg Lawal and Everest Miri respectively, expressed appreciation to the university management and pledged to deliver the projects ahead of schedule.
They also appealed for continued cooperation from the university to ensure smooth execution.
The statement added that the projects are expected to significantly enhance learning, administrative efficiency, and security on the PLASU campus.
