Plateau Deputy Governor congratulates new executives

Plateau State Deputy Governor, Hon. Josephine Piyo, has congratulated Mrs Ayuku Pwaspo on her emergence as the first woman to emerge as chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Plateau State.

Piyo in a congratulatory letter signed Martha Nyam, her Chief Press Secretary, Tuesday in Jos, also congratulated other new officials recently elected.

Piyo who was excited by the outcome of the election and being the first-ever female chairman of the esteemed profession,

stated that her victory did not come as a surprise as it was a reward of her record of excellence, consistency and character.

The Deputy Governor maintained that with her historic emergence she was confident in her ability to rebuild the NUJ in the state and enhance journalism practice to world best standards.

Piyo called for Women’s equal participation and leadership in political, public and professional life as they  are essential in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and growth in the state.

The Deputy Governor assured the new chairman of her complete support and continued friendship with the media and female journalists in the State.

While expressing how proud she is of the new chairman, Piyo then prayed for God’s guidance and make her new leadership role a huge success.
