The Plateau State Government has imposed an immediate dusk-to-dawn curfew on Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas following emerging security concerns in the affected communities.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Rt. Hon. Joyce Lohya Ramnap, mni, said the restriction, which takes effect from Monday, September 21, 2026, will run from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily until further notice.
The state government said the measure was introduced to enable security agencies to stabilise the affected areas, protect lives and property, and prevent any breakdown of law and order.
According to the government, the curfew is part of measures being taken by the administration of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to respond to the emerging security situation and safeguard residents.
Residents of the three local government areas have therefore been directed to comply fully with the restriction and organise their commercial, agricultural and personal activities around the curfew hours.
The government also directed security operatives to strictly enforce the curfew and an immediate ban on the use of motorcycles throughout the affected local government areas.
While urging residents to cooperate with security personnel, the government assured law-abiding citizens that security agencies deployed to enforce the directive would operate professionally.
