Plateau to Host Interdenominational Unity Christmas Carols, Praise Festival

Plateau State Government, in collaboration with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Plateau State Chapter, has completed arrangements to organize a maiden edition of the Plateau State Interdenominational Unity Christmas Carols and Praise Festival.

In a statement signed by secretary to the government of Plateau State and Chairman, planning committee Architect Samuel Jatau, In Jos said the joyous event will take place from November 29th to December 1, 2024, at the Ten Commandments Prayer Altar in Du, Jos South Local Government Area, starting at 3:30 PM daily.

Jatau, said the festival which is aimed at uniting the people of Plateau State under the banner of God through songs of praise and worship, will feature renowned Christian gospel artists.

He explained that the event will be graced by eminent Nigerians, including Former Heads of State General Yakubu Gowon and General Olusegun Obasanjo, as special guests of Honour.

The Secretary to the Government disclosed that Professor Mary Lar, wife of the first civilian Governor of Plateau State, the late Chief Solomon Lar, will be the
Mother of the Occasion, while the Chief Host is the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang.

He said the festival reflects Governor Mutfwang’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness, guided by shared values rooted in faith and unity.

According to Jatau, by celebrating the essence of Christmas, the event seeks to elevate Plateau State as a premier Christmas destination in Nigeria and beyond.

He added that attendees can expect an extraordinary experience that will captivate families, tourists, and visitors from across the nation.

Jatau added that throughout the season, the city of Jos will shine brightly with twinkling lights and the joyous sounds of carols, providing an opportunity to celebrate shared values and embrace the spirit of Christmas.
