The Chairman of Rano Local Government Area, Hon. Malam Muhammad Naziru Ya’u, has congratulated the National Leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator (Dr.) Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, FNSE, on his conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Northwest University, Kano.
The honour was bestowed on Kwankwaso during the university’s 2nd Combined Convocation held on Saturday, July 27, 2025.
This was contained in a statement issued to PRIME TIME NEWS by Media Aide to the Chairman, Mamuda Ja’e on Sunday.
According to Mamuda, in a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the government and people of Rano Local Government Area, Hon. Naziru Ya’u described the award as “well-deserved,” noting that it recognises Kwankwaso’s exceptional contributions to education, leadership and national development.

He highlighted that Northwest University, the awarding institution, is among the two universities established by Kwankwaso during his tenure as Governor of Kano State, in addition to numerous other institutions of learning and research that, according to him, “continue to transform lives.”
The Rano LGA chairman commended Kwankwaso’s lifelong commitment to education, human capital development and nation-building, saying it has remained “a source of inspiration to millions within and outside Nigeria.”
“We in Rano Local Government join millions of admirers and well-wishers in celebrating this milestone, while praying for Almighty Allah to grant you long life, good health, and the wisdom to continue to serve humanity,” the statement added.
